Ten; Royal Flush Gang. i love just flowing with it, let me esplain. you see Ten's right calf? that was the only reason i drew this sketch and liked it. where the calf, knee and thy meet, as a foreshortened object, is a bane to my drawing skill. i have attempted that angle, "NUMEROUS" times, and disliked most of them.

that's part of the entire reason of doing this sketch Blog. drawing things, i'm not particularly comfortable with over and over again, until it become natural and believable.

King; The Royal Flush Gang. mansome days i'm feelin' "it" and some days i'm not. this is one of those sketches that just was not workin' for me. But this is where i learned something. i started out without a plan, and forgot my basic layout process. havoc ensued soon afterword. it wasn't until i cleaned up my scribbles with kneaded eraser, and started checking things that this started coming together.

just gotta' power through those not creative moments, but knowing your process and being comfortable with your art, allows me to say "good enough, moving on."

DMZ. i don't know what it was about this character, but he was my absolute favorite from the Blood Syndicate. quite possibly in all of Milestone Media. i'll have to revisit him.

Rocket. i struggles a little bit, between what i wanted and staying true to the original.

Hardware. as a cog in the corporate machine hardware was instrumental in dismantling his bosses corrupt business deals. that was fueled after being spurned by his boss. you see, what i took away from hardware was, just because your talented, dosen't mean the world owes you anything. that lesson, like hardware, i've carried with me everyday.

Static. Rebirth of the Cool, still resonates in my mind. with this i mixed styles of the original milestone static and the DC static shock.

Icon. this hero was a cornerstone during the 90's, that changed the way i thought about myself and superhero's in general.

Dr. Solar; man of the Atom. took detour from the thundercats, my internet crashed and i was unable to look up any reference. so i sketched the first thing that popped into my head.

Bengali. if i remember the series correctly Bengali wasn't a warrior but a blacksmith. so i was reaching for a short guy witha big hammer.

The lesson here, i made a stand to do 365 sketches. i give myself 30 minutes to churn out something. they're not not complete, and they're not supposed to be. right now i'm Clark Kent, in Smallville. near the end of 365 i would like to be Superman, in Metropolis. completed sketches, some ink, maybe a little color. anyway week one in the bag. 7 days, 7 seven sketches.
